Academic Structure
- Morning Assembly
Morning Assembly is an essential part of Academic structure. Prayers are followed by a talk on some religious values by the teacher and the students. Thought of the day. Moral stories and main news are read. The assembly ends with the national anthem.
- Computer Education
Computers have become an integral part of every profession. From 1 st to 8th classes, computer education is given under the guidance and supervisìon of a well trained computer teacher.
- Music Room
Music help us to go close to the nature and enhances the pleasure of a child. Chìldren are trained for competitions and performances.
- Library
Self Study and reading habits do play an important role in achieving the goal. for this purpose, the school prides a well equipped and stacked library with vaious subjects and magazines to varied interest. Students are free to visist library and get books issued. a qualified librarian is appointed to maintain the library.
- Science Laboratory
The school has a well developed science lab having required equipments to facilitate experimental work.
- Sports And Games
Sports and Games are an integral part of education. Through sports and games, the qualities like leadership and sportsmanship are interwoven in the students under the guidance of experienced physical education teacher. Students are prepared for many indoor and outdoor games.
- Test & Examinations
Students are continuously assessed through a series of class test, unit test, terminal and Annual Examination. Promotion to the higher class depends on the child’s performance throughout the year.
- Parent Teacher Meeting
A child’s education is the combined responsibility of the school and the parents. are invited to discuss the academic progress of the child.
- Tours & Excursions
With an objective of acquaintance with our rich cultural heritage, tours and excursions are organized for the students to different places.
- Transport
The School own 12 Buses.
- Attendance Policy
Students are expected to be present in school on all working days as per the dates given each year in the school calendar . It is also mandatory to attend all classes and activities laid out in each student's daily time table. The SPS school calendar factors in generous school holidays and parents are requested not to ask for additional leave for their children . As sufficient holidays are provided during the entire academic year , no student should risk their attendance in school or in class to fall below 90% Should this happen the student's promotion to the next classes could be jeopardized . In case medical leave is required because of sickness of one or two days a letter should be sent to the Class Teacher on the return of the student to school. For longer absences , please notify the student's Class Teacher well in time and furnish a doctor's certificate with a note to the Principal on the student's joining the school again. Parents are to seek permission through a prior written request for the student to leave the school premises during school hours.
Telephonic messages will not be entertained.
No half day of short leave is permitted.
Only in case or emergencies would a child be allowed to leave. School will decide on the nature of emergency , Attendance for that day will be adjusted accordingly.
- Policy On Academic Honesty
Academic dishonesty are acts which result or may result in an individual gaining unfair advantage.
The following is a list of such behavior, but is by no means exhaustive.
1. Copying from another student or making information available to another student during a test or examination.
2. Communicating with another student during examinations.
3. Bringing into the examination room materials which are not permitted such as calculator or a mobile phone .
4. Interfering in the scholastic work of another student , for example , by stealing laboratory reports , computer files and library materials .
5. Altering grades awarded by a teacher.
6. Stealing examination papers.
7. Impersonating another student.
Sanctions against academic dishonestly may range from warning to dismissal depending on the seriousnessof the offense. The penalities may include one or more of the following:-
1. The offense may be recorded on the interaction record form , a copy of which is placed in the student's life.
2. A warning letter may be issued.
3. No assessment grades in that piece of work or examination.
4. Dismissal from the school.
- Birthday Celebration In School
1. Students
up to class V are allowed to come in decent home clothes.
2.
Students should not distribute more than two toffees each to their class fellows and friends.
3. No other form of celebration is allowed in the school.
4. No student is allowed to go directly from the school to attend birthday celebration of any other friends.
5. The school will not share the telephone number or address of any student for sending invitations.
- Identity Card
1. Every student will be issued one Identity Card. It is mandatory for every student to wear the Identity Card while on campus or in the school transport. The Authorisation Card will remain with parents.
2. For reason of safety , student leaving the campus or being met at the bus stop will only be permitted to go with the person showing the valid card.
3. Students and parents are requested to take good care of these cards as they are an important part of school security system.
4. Loss of a card must be reported immediately to the
Admission Department.
5. A new card will be issued and charged for accordingly . We hope that everyone will take good care of their cards and this will rarely happen. The Identity Card also function as Library and are required for that purpose.
- Assessment
All assessments (formal, informal, pen & paper tests, oral , projects as well activity based) are important tools to measure each child's progress and achievement sync with the schools's policy of the continuous and comprehensive evaluation.
1. Regularity to school ensure the student's participation in learning as well as formative/diagnostic assessments.
2. If a student misses a pen-and-paper list.
a) there is no provision of conducting a re-test.
b) average marks will not be awarded for that particular test.
c) the student will not be eligible for an academic award.
3. In case of a student misses any pen-and-paper test on medical grounds, achievement in the subject shall be calculated on an average performance over the year.
4. Evaluation of day to day activities is being done on regular basis. Thus marks/grades will be awarded on the basis of other activities conducting during an Assessment Cycle.
